FAN 2014

Monica HernandezJust had an incredible weekend at the 2011 FAN event, it was amazing!!! Our event began on Friday afternoon with check-in where we received a goody bag with some great books and among other items a bullet keychain from Brenda (loved it!). It was such a delight to run into some of the ladies from last year's event, like seeing long lost friends and of course meeting some wonderful new ladies.

Friday night was a roaring 20's theme with a Texas hold 'em card game. Everyone looked just fab in their costumes and Christine looked absolutely wonderful with a great new hair style, just beautiful! She was dressed in a gangster's outfit as was the FAN crew (of course we all know that Christine was head mobster). Domini was gorgeous in an incredible green gown and Manda was sexy in red. We were gifted with another goody bag that included a beautiful decorated box (mine is red & decorated with a leopard) and an hour glass. Lots of great prizes were given out for the winners of the poker games and there was even a prize for the best costume of the evening. I was lucky enough to be the winner which was truly a big surprise! My prize was a gift bag with the items given at FAN 2011 and was a bit different than what I took home last year. My daughter quickly pointed out that I didn't need two kaleidoscopes and tried to make off with one; of course, as much as I love my daughter, I told her that she was risking life & limb if she even thought about it, the nerve!! Anyway, we all had a good time Friday night!

Saturday began with breakfast and FANGO, Christine and Brenda’s version of bingo, with the ladies calling. Then we had a nice candid chat with Christine and Brenda where they talked about what motivated them and where ideas came from. Lots of intense probing trying to get some info from Christine but she refused to give us any, now we’ll just have to wait. After our chat we had a book signing where we were all lucky enough to be first in getting a copy of the upcoming re-release of the Dark Prince with the extra 100 pages of story!! We ended the evening with Brenda's murder mystery dinner. Now that had a very surprising and stunning twist. The last murder victim was our very own Christine and it was Brenda's husband that was responsible!! I mean, even though it was pretend, how could they?? Luckily for us, Christine is just fine. The evening was a lot of fun, the actors and everyone who played a part were very good, a great night!!

Our event ended Sunday with a farewell brunch where we were greeted by Christine and Brenda and gifted with a beautiful bracelet. As I said, it was an amazing weekend. Thanks to all of you who helped put this together. Special thanks to Domini and Jo Carol and of course Christine and Brenda for wanting to share it all with us. Can’t wait for FAN 2012!!
